Building and Developing Cultural Proficiency and Understanding
The Educational Justice Professional Learning Series, Session 2:
On Sept. 22, 2023, the EAC-South and the Center for Black Educator Development hosted a virtual learning session about building cultural proficiency in the classroom. This was the second of a three-part series.
This webinar offers tips for educators on strengthening their relationships with students, families, and colleagues by recognizing and reflecting on their own cultural perceptions. This self-reflection helps ensure safe learning environments for students and aids teachers in developing culturally responsive teaching practices.
Speaker: Danielle N. Thomas, Assistant Director of Professional Development, The Center for Black Educator Development
