This guide helps school staff members who work with student-level data understand the naming conventions of other countries and languages. Accurately inputting a student’s name ensures that you can better track student data over time and match files across data sets. Incorrectly entering a student’s name can result in multiple listings of the same student in different databases, and if they are eligible for services (e.g. English learner support), they may be unidentified or overlooked.
